About 11 years ago we heard a sermon, and God began speaking to our hearts about becoming a bridge from God to the broken-hearted. The message touched on Job 14:7-9:

“For there is hope for a tree, if it be cut down, that it will sprout again, and that its shoots will not cease.

Though its root grow old in the earth, and its stump die in the soil,

yet at the scent of water it will bud and put out branches like a young plant."

We immediately connected with it, because we had experienced deep personal pain to the point of feeling like a tree down to its stump dying in the soil, yet we found hope in God's supernatural healing. It became clear that the Holy Spirit was speaking to us about the lives of people whose story could be much like the tree in that scripture. We knew there were people out there who needed just a scent of water to bud again and be restored.
